a volution說是學習托福單字，其實不如說是對單字學習得更深入，更廣泛。下面就來講解一下與volu/volv相關的字彙。
volu/volv這兩個字根出自於拉丁文，意思是旋轉、捲繞、轉變成的意思。與這兩個字根相關的字不少都很實用，建議先背動詞形式，然後再衍生其他的變化，諸如：
★★convolve (v.) 盤捲、旋繞（一起來捲）
e.g. The painter's brush convolved on the canvas.
★★devolve (v.) 移交（de-遞 volv轉給）
e.g. After the general fell, command devolved upon the colonel.
★★evolve (v.) 排放出emit、推理得到derive
e.g. Natural cheese evolves carbon dioxide during the course of its aging. (emits)
e.g. From the premises, he evolved a new principle. (derived)
★★intervolve(v.)互捲
★★involve (v.)涉入
★★revolve (v.)旋轉rotate、沉思考慮ponder
e.g. The earth revolves round the sun. (rotates)
e.g. She revolved the story in her mind for a long time.(pondered)
另外常用的名詞如：
★volume是書冊（a.）的意思，因為古時後的書都是捲起來成冊，因此之後衍生為體積（b.）的意思（書多了體積大），以及大量、多量（c.）的意思（volumes of +Ns）
★convolution (n.)迂迴劇情
★volute (n.)渦的形狀
★revolution(n.) 革命rebellion、旋轉一圈rotation
